PyCon Uganda Launches Travel Aid for the 2025 Conference
PyCon Uganda 2025 is just around the corner, happening from August 6th to 9th in Kampala, and we want more people from across Uganda to be part of it. That’s why we’ve launched a Travel Aid Program to help domestic attendees cover their transport costs to and from the conference.
We believe great tech events should be accessible to everyone, not just those in the city. If you're a Python enthusiast living outside Kampala, this is your chance to join the community in person.
What the Travel Aid Covers
The Travel Aid will only support transport costs for eligible applicants traveling to PyCon Uganda 2025. It does not include:
- Conference tickets
- Meals or accommodation
Successful applicants will receive a transport reimbursement based on distance and available funding.
Who Can Apply?
You can apply if you:
- Live outside Kampala
- Need financial support for travel
- Are passionate about Python or active in the local tech community
- Plan to attend all three days of the event
This aid is especially ideal for students, early-career developers, freelancers, and those from underrepresented regions in tech.
Why We're Doing This
We want to see diverse voices and talents represented at PyCon Uganda 2025. By easing the burden of travel costs, we hope to bring more Ugandan tech enthusiasts into the room to learn, grow, and build together.
