Meet the PyCon Africa 2026 Chairs

Dorothy Kabarozi

Dorothy Kabarozi is an ambitious problem solver with a deep passion for technology and over seven years of experience building logical and innovative solutions across complex web technologies.

Her work spans financial reporting systems, report presentation platforms, data compilation and analysis tools, Educational ERP systems, and financial software and systems. Throughout her career, Dorothy has demonstrated a remarkable ability to translate complex requirements into scalable, efficient, and user-focused solutions.

Beyond her technical expertise, Dorothy is known for her analytical mindset and commitment to delivering high-impact systems that empower organizations to operate more effectively. Her background in financial and educational technology systems brings a unique perspective to PyCon Africa 2026, one grounded in real-world application, reliability, and thoughtful engineering.

As Chair, Dorothy is committed to:

Hassan Bahati Mukisa

Hassan Bahati Mukisa is a Computer Scientist and Software Engineer with a strong passion for open source, developer tooling, and community building. His work reflects a clear mission: empowering developers through accessible technology and shared knowledge.

Hassan is an active technical speaker who has delivered talks and workshops at developer conferences and meetups across Africa. His speaking engagements have covered topics such as Firebase, artificial intelligence, cloud infrastructure, and modern web and mobile development.

Beyond his technical contributions, Hassan is deeply invested in growing inclusive developer communities. He serves as a co-organizer and Platforms Committee Lead for PyCon Uganda, and volunteers across several Google Developer Groups communities. His dedication to collaboration and mentorship has helped nurture a stronger and more connected tech ecosystem in Uganda and beyond.

As Chair of PyCon Africa 2026, Hassan brings:
